The brand new, ultra-modern campus was designed to be innovative, dynamic and collaborative. It hosts inspiring and flexible learning and teaching spaces packed with technology to give staff and students access to some of the most modern university facilities in the UK. It will be home to 4000 students and five academic schools.
The campus offers first-class research and development opportunities, and hosts Scotland’s newest simulated nursing and midwifery teaching environment as well as Scotland’s highest-specification environmental chamber – one of only two in the country and the only one in the West of Scotland. The chamber will replicate environmental extremes for athletes.
The new campus is also one of the UK’s greenest educational environments, powered by 100 per cent renewable energy from an associated windfarm. It’s a carbon neutral development and benefits from environmentally conscious features including rainwater harvesting, photovoltaic panels, a building management system, electric car charging points and even compostable cutlery.
Students have access to campus-wide Wi-Fi, green and social spaces, and health and fitness facilities.
Located in Hamilton International Technology Park, the Lanarkshire Campus integrates industry and academia and allows for mutually beneficial partnerships between students, staff and various local businesses.
