The University of Strathclyde’s student-led approach to digital transformation has earned national recognition, with the StrathApp Student Co-creation Development Model winning the Transformation category at the UCISA Awards 2025, which recognise digital innovation in education, at a ceremony on 19 March.

StrathApp provides students with easy access to timetables and assessment results, enables library entry via a digital student card, supports campus navigation and connects users to University support services – all via mobile devices.

The accolade reflects Strathclyde’s commitment to digital innovation that enhances processes, improves student and staff experiences, and supports institutional growth.

Fantastic recognition

Donna Brawley, Collaboration Services Manager in the Information Services Directorate, said: “Winning the UCISA Transformation Award is fantastic recognition of our commitment to student-led digital innovation at Strathclyde.

“Our students know what information and services they need on a daily basis so putting them at the heart of an iterative approach to developing our award-winning StrathApp was an obvious thing to do.

“This innovative approach has enabled us to deliver a service that is genuinely ‘For Students, By Students’.”
