Established more than 25 years ago at the University of Glasgow, WTCMP houses world renowned research active scientists who collaborate with colleagues all over the globe. The Centre’s aim is to make a large impact on parasitic diseases by gaining understanding of basic processes in parasites and exploiting them to develop new approaches to disease control.
Prof Andy Waters, WTCMP, Director said “The Wellcome Trust have very generously recognized the quality of the work that we do at WTCMP. This level of support allows us to continue to improve our already considerable infrastructure and to recruit world-class scientists and support teams. In the coming years this will translate into scientific discovery hopefully leading to therapies for parasitic diseases that remain the scourge of much of the poorer regions of the world”.
