Last round, Scottish EDGE awarded 24 early-stage, startup Scottish businesses with prize funding of £1.4m and the good news is EDGE is back for Round 22 with more funding on offer for Scotland’s next great startup businesses.

Launching with news of an exciting new Food and Drink sector award supported by Scotland Food & Drink, the application window will stay open until 2nd August, inviting applications from businesses in Scotland across all sectors, and from pre-trading to up to five years trading. Winning applicants will receive a share of a £1m+ prize pot, along with access to a network of industry experts and support opportunities.

In addition to the new Food and Drink award, the Scottish EDGE suite of awards now consists of the core Scottish EDGE, Social Enterprise EDGE (supported by Postcode Innovation Trust) and Scottish Enterprise supported Young EDGE category, and Wild Card EDGE, as well as the specialist category awards: Net Zero EDGE (supported by Royal Bank of Scotland), Circular Economy EDGE (supported by Zero Waste Scotland), STV Growth EDGE (supported by STV), and Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre EDGE (supported by IBioIC).

To apply, businesses will need to submit an application and a three-minute video pitch via the online portal at scottishedge.com. A panel of assessors, which includes investors, entrepreneurs, and industry experts, will then review the submissions and select the semi-finalists.

If you are keen to apply and want to find out more then your first step to success could be to attend the Scottish EDGE virtual application workshop to get advice on crafting that perfect application.
