Professor Sir Mark Walport, Chief Executive Designate of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), Government Chief Scientific Adviser and Head of Government Science and Engineering Profession and UKRI will officially open ICE and give the keynote address. Speakers also include Paul Wheelhouse MSP, Professor Kamil Ugurbil from University of Minnesota and Dr Michael Schaaf, Head of Technology and Research Department for MRI, Siemens Healthcare.
The official opening of ICE will be accompanied by a Civic Reception lunch and champagne reception hosted by Lord Provost Sadie Docherty. There will also be exhibitions, partnering opportunities, displays and networking. In the afternoon, two workshops will run in parallel. One workshop will focus on whole body imaging, whilst the other workshop will foster discussion around funding innovation with Innovate UK and KTN with contribution from Invest Glasgow.
