Glasgow Caledonian University is to host the 2023 Global Fashion Conference.
GFC23: Fashion for the Common Good will explore how social innovation can deliver a more sustainable and ethical fashion industry.
More than 300 industry leaders, academics and students are expected to take part in the hybrid conference next November.
Each year the GFC brings together researchers, entrepreneurs, managers and professionals to share knowledge and encourages young people to create solutions for future sustainable design.
Dr Elaine Ritch, Reader in Fashion, Marketing and Sustainability at GCU, said: “We are incredibly excited that GCU has been chosen to host next year’s conference.
“The history of textiles at GCU spans back almost 150 years and fashion is woven into Scottish culture and our economy.
“As the University for the Common Good, our focus is very much on social innovation and making a far-reaching difference to people’s lives.
“We are looking forward to welcoming delegates to Scotland.”
The dates for GFC23: Fashion for the Common Good and details about the call for papers will be announced shortly.
