Up to five individuals or companies will secure £30,000 R&D contracts, to develop a design solution in the first phase of the competition.
Successful companies secure 100 per cent funding, retain the intellectual property developed during the competition and will be well placed to exploit this large and expanding international market.
The competition opens on Monday, August 20 and an information event will be held in Perth on Tuesday, August 28.
The Can Do Innovation Challenge Fund is a national £9.2 million fund which supports Scotland’s public sector to collaborate with businesses to develop novel solutions to their service and policy delivery challenges. The fund is led by Scottish Enterprise, in partnership with Scottish Government, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the Scottish Funding Council.
The fund is in the second year of a four-year programme.
