As part of the University of Strathclyde’s Engage with Strathclyde week of events taking place from 29 April – 3 May, staff from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics is hosting a joint presentation with Police Scotland to demonstrate how insights from data analysis can assist evidence-based policing.

In addition, bookable one-to-one advisory sessions are available to discuss your maths/stats/data challenges.

This event will comprise a presentation session, followed by opportunities on the same evening, and the following day for one to one advisory sessions.

Presentation: Data Analytics for Evidence-Based Crime Prevention and Policing

Come along to this presentation to hear how data science can be used to help prevent crime and improve policing. Using examples of crime in Scotland and Chicago, this joint presentation between the University and Police Scotland is suitable for wide ranging audiences interested in applications of data analytics.

1-2-1 advice: Statistical and mathematical advisory sessions

The University of Strathclyde is offering one-to-one advisory sessions for non-academic organisations wanting to explore their potential use of maths and stats or needing advice on a particular mathematical or statistical problem.
