City of Glasgow College has committed to actively participating in a community of practice to help innovative businesses more easily access the talent and skills they require.

Innovate UK’s Talent & Skills Connect streamlines access to a portfolio of offerings, making it simpler for both partners and businesses to tap into the resources they need to succeed, offering support and collaborative opportunities for improved talent and skills outcomes.

By making this commitment, the college will continue to develop the talent and skills pipeline necessary for UK business innovation success. This is yet another step in the college’s strategic commitment to developing scientific and technical excellence that meets the needs of industry, and has been validated by industry.

Our pledge to play an active role in the innovation and skills system in the UK comes after successfully securing funding from Innovate UK for the College Local Innovation Centres (CLIC) project, which will establish specialised Innovation Centres aligned with Glasgow City Region’s economic priorities and further positions the College as a UK Best Practice tertiary institution. By formalising our commitment to Innovate UK’s Talent & Skills Connect we aim to collaborate with others to achieve greater impact.

Roy Gardner, Vice Principal at City of Glasgow College, said:

“Innovation is one of the key pillars of our strategic planning process. The skills initiative offers colleges the opportunity to engage with other innovative organisations through a Talent & Skills Connect partner catalogue, a dedicated online community and monthly webinars. Furthermore, the annual Talent & Skills Connect Conference and Impact Awards, will both offer the chance to celebrate the initiatives and projects that illustrate how organisations are working better together.”
