Hosted by Equate Scotland on Wednesday 7 September the event is aimed at employers wishing to recruit STEM skilled staff.

Those attending will hear from employers engaged in Equate Scotland’s internship and returnship schemes which exclusively target women in STEM – employers who, by widening their talent pools, are already reaping the rewards. Women who have participated in the schemes will also discuss their experiences.

A City of Glasgow College spokesperson said: “This is one of a number of events that we are providing together with Equate Scotland following the contract our College was awarded earlier in the year to promote gender equality in the engineering sector.

“As one of the few STEM Centre’s of Excellence in Scotland, Riverside campus is home to our pioneering women-into-engineering classes – the first of their kind in Scotland – which have resulted in a significant increase in enrolments, work placements and public awareness of the gender imbalance in each sector.

“This seminar on 7 September aims to develop a skills pipeline that focuses on placing students with the skills and the returners with the experience that are needed for business.”
