The awards, which are being held for the second time this year, recognise and reward innovation and sustainability at an international level. They also highlight the opportunities and challenges faced across all business sectors and aim to help develop a more open, sustainable and innovative global economy.
The deadline for entries is Thursday, August 2, 2018. The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow.

Award categories
Women in innovation – A woman who has created a game changing business or innovation and successfully brought it to market. It should help in providing a solution to a societal problem – be applicable across borders.
Start-up and share – Are you the next Airbnb or Uber? We are looking for a disruptor or young company developing an online product within the sharing economy market that offers a service, skills, time, space or another shared resource that minimises the requirement to own something.
Young pioneers – Any person or group of individuals (aged 18 – 25 years old) who are shaking things up. An idea, product or invention that is having an impact, achieving commercial success, changing how things are done, or is being harnessed by a school, business or organisation.
Innovation in STEM education/training – The innovation economy needs people with skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This award will recognise a training provider, college or university that is democratising education – and bridging the gender gap – by using pioneering techniques, programmes, or technology to reach a wide and diverse audience.
Moonshot award – Serial pioneer Bertrand Piccard told Innovators Magazine in 2017 “You don’t innovate with a new idea, you innovate when you understand the paradigm that prevents you from moving ahead, and you get rid of this paradigm.” How are you shifting paradigms to create or demonstrate ways in which a better and more sustainable world can be achieved?
Circular breakthrough – An organisation that can demonstrate how their product or services help to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy, establishing a more sustainable way of doing business. It could be anything from circular product design and innovation; re-use, repair, remanufacturing to effective supply chain and cross-sectoral collaboration; incorporating design thinking, digital technology and/or adopting resource efficiency.
Corporates for good – This is for a large company that provides a utility service, smart technology systems, or adopts pioneering practices that are good news for the planet. It should be making a major impact in helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Empowering intrapreneurship – Are you a business, organisation or institution that is actively promoting intrapreneurship – as companies like Google and Intel are doing? Then this award is for you. It recognizes efforts to change culture, processes and facilities, in order to change-makers within the workplace.
Food for thought – This award is for a pioneering product, concept or service – created within any sector – for the purpose of contributing to a world without hunger.
Collaboration for change – Recognises a new or completed project created through Triple Helix (academia/industry/government) collaboration – one that is designed to solve a societal problem at a local, national or international level.
