Glasgow City of Science is supporting the development of a series of national, Venturefest, co-badged events in the months leading up to Venturefest Scotland 2016 taking place on the 1 September at Glasgow Science Centre.
We are now looking for event hosts and invite you to take part and help build upon the success of 2015’s inaugural event to connect ambitious Scottish SMEs with entrepreneurs, academics, innovators and investors.
The purpose of our pre-event programme is to:
- Promote and raise the profile of Venturefest Scotland 2016
- Link to Venturefest Scotland’s core themes of promoting innovation across the SME ecosystem through sustainable growth and interntionalisation
- Highlight Scotland’s distinctive science and innovation offer
- Foster new partnerships including new, multi-disciplinary collaborations
- Link thematically to Scotland’s Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design 2016
In addition to new, standalone events we recognise that you may be organising existing events that meet some or all of the above criteria. If so, would you be interested in co-badging your existing event with Venturefest Scotland branding?
What’s in it for me?
Venturefest Scotland is supported by a fully integrated communications campaign including social media, e-marketing, a mobile app, a dedicated event website and PR. By coming on board as an event host, you gain access to this highly active, national campaign, widening your audience reach and improving your visibility.
Dedicated support
All our official event hosts are supported with a full suite of Venturefest Scotland assets – logos, pop-up banners, flyers, proud-to-support email footers etc – available for you to use at any time at no cost.
Here’s what some of our former event hosts have said:
Dr Diane Harbison MBA, Managing Director, BioCity
“We were very keen to be involved in Venturefest. It provided BioCity with the opportunity to potentially engage with different groups who might not have been aware of BioCity and what we do…..….. For my perspective it was enormously valuable to raise the profile of BioCity’s company creation activities which people are not normally aware of, to raise awareness of the BioCity group activities and to find out a bit more about what the other groups involved in entrepreneurship are doing in Scotland. I found it very useful and we would be keen to be involved again next year.”
Jacqueline Coffield, MVLS Research & Business Development, University of Glasgow
“Being associated with Venturefest has been a thoroughly positive experience. The team behind the day were so helpful and positive and really pulled off a fantastic day. We hope that this will become at least an annual event and we wouldn’t hesitate to be a supporter in the future.”
