Three Scottish tech for good entrepreneurs have been selected for the Startup Summit Competition final. The entrants will pitch for a top prize worth over £100,000 in front of hundreds of attendees at this year’s Startup Summit, taking place online and in-person.
Judges from FutureX, Johnston Carmichael, STV and ClearSky Logic selected Christian Arno (Pawprint), Lynne Darcey Quigley (Know-It Global) and Hugh Craigie Halkett (StampFree) to progress from the semi-finals which took place virtually on October 4th. They represent applicants from across the country and industries spanning Climate Change, FinTech, and Digital Tech.
Pawprint: an employee engagement tool which harnesses the energy employees already have to play their part in the fight against climate change, and channels it towards their organisation’s climate targets.
Know-it : gives SMEs the ability to mitigate credit risk, increase cashflow and reduce debtor days.
Stamp Free Limited : the Stamp Free Digital Postage Solution, a modern alternative to traditional mailing & returns, built on AI technology and simply delivered via an app on your phone.
The overall winner of the Startup Summit Competition will receive a fully funded place on FutureX’s Silicon Valley Scale programme and a business support package worth over £100,000. This package includes business support from Johnston Carmichael, STV, ClearSky Logic, FutureX, Pencil, AAI EmployAbility, Vonage, Scaleway Startup Programs and ParlayMe.
The Silicon Valley Scale programme immerses a select group of rising UK tech leaders in the Silicon Valley ecosystem. As part of the programme they have the opportunity to connect with leading global players in the tech industry and pitch to potential investors. Previous cohorts have met with executives from Airbnb, Facebook, SurveyMonkey, RocketSpace, Y Combinator, Waze, and Threshold.
The competition final will be hosted live on Day 2 of Startup Summit 2021 on October 26th.
