The University of Strathclyde has launched the Glasgow Space Enterprise Lab (SEL) in partnership with the Satellite Applications Catapult.
The Catapult, a not-for-profit independent innovation and technology company created by Innovate UK to drive economic growth through the exploitation of space, is launching its second cohort of SELs across the UK, including in both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Collaborative technology
The roll out provides users with access to the latest collaborative technology, resources and expertise to engage and collaborate virtually with other organisations, regardless of location.
The Space Enterprise Labs are modular physical spaces for innovation that will provide users with Zoom licences, virtual reality headsets and access to Microsoft Surface Hubs as well as a modern, professional and safe working environment.
The innovative and inclusive services enable virtual meetings, business sprints and other services such as virtual whiteboards and built-in video conferencing, for everyone within the UK space sector to use.
Professor Malcolm Macdonald, Director of the Applied Space Technology Laboratory based at the University, said: “The University has a strong and historic partnership with the Satellite Applications Catapult which is further strengthened with the opening of the Space Enterprise Lab for Glasgow.
“Collaboration is at the heart of what we do here and this dedicated space will help us to bring more organisations into the space sector, accelerate innovative ideas and help the growing space community in Scotland to thrive together.”

Unique facilities

The Space Enterprise Labs are open at locations across the UK.
