Glasgow-based medical diagnostics company Microplate Dx has made history by becoming the first Scottish company to be selected for the prestigious MedTech Innovator (MTI) 2025 Accelerator Programme.

Chosen from over 1,500 global applicants, the company now joins a select cohort of just 65 top-performing medtech start-ups and scale-ups from around the world—representing the top 4% of applicants to the world’s largest medtech accelerator.

The four-month programme provides participants with mentorship, guidance and access to a network of investors, providers, manufacturers and industry experts.

Dr Stuart Hannah, co-founder and chief executive of Microplate Dx, said: “This opportunity gives us a powerful platform to validate our technology and showcase our product and help build for future.

“An excellent place to meet other global companies focussed on medtech solutions and healthcare market and work further to pave way to grow in the US market and build our assumptions.”

Dr Poonam Malik, executive chair and co-founder of Microplate Dx, added: “We are delighted for this validation by MTI judges to invite Microplate Dx to join this flagship accelerator, along with corporate and strategics who indicated interest in our offering for the global market.”

Throughout the MTI program, cohort companies will present at industry events including the invitation-only Innovator Summit later in June at Mountain View, California. On June 27, the companies will also showcase to investors at MedTech World in San Jose, California.
